Pump up those tires, strap on your helmet and join your neighbors for the First Annual Honey Brook Harmony Day Bike Ride on Saturday, Sept. 19. Leaving from Umble Park on the edge of Honey Brook, the 30 mile ride will follow back roads through Honey Brook and West Nantmeal Townships with a half-way rest stop with snacks at Just Mom’s on Route 82.

A shorter ride of five miles will take riders through the Honey Brook Township countryside. And, for the little ones, an off-roads course on the Born Learning Trail at Umble Park will be safe for Big Wheels and training wheel bikes. Registration can be done on the day of the event. Advance registration forms will be available at Honey Brook Township building, Honey Brook Library or other locations around the area.

Come out at 9 a.m. for the 30 mile ride, at 10 a.m. for the five mile ride and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the kid’s mini-ride. Rider support and bike repair will be provided for riders. Ice cream will be available for all at completion.

The registration fee for the five and 30 mile rides will be equal to the mileage for those rides. All proceeds will be donated to the Honey Brook Food Pantry. Checks should be made out to the Food Pantry.

The ride is being organized by very enthusiastic and energetic local residents. Sponsorship is provided by the Honey Brook Township Parks and Recreation Committee and the Honey Brook Community Partnership. Donations are provided by Honey Brook Hardware, Turkey Hill, Stauffer’s Market, the Honey Brook Golf Course and Just Mom’s restaurant. Questions may be directed to the planning committee at 574-360-6403.
