Samantha Tanner, age 16 of Kutztown, from Troop 1359 completed her Gold Award project in July, 2015. Her project consisted of organizing and scrapbooking newspaper articles and archiving Senator’s letters addressing the advocacy of the deaf and hard of hearing in Berks County dating back since 1967. Twenty-one people which included people from her Girl Scout troop 1359, Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Beacon Homeschool group, and friends all contributed in helping her achieve this prestigious award. The scrapbooks are on display at the Berks Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, 2045 Centre Ave, Reading, across from the Reading Phillies stadium. Tanner would like to thank everyone that made this project possible.
