Six-year-old boy passes away after being pinned between two horse-drawn carts

A six-year-old boy has passed away after an accident involving two horse-drawn hay carts in Honey Brook Township.

State Police at Embreeville responded to the incident, which occurred on Aug. 26 on North Birdell Road at 9:15 a.m.

Troopers responded to assist EMS. The boy was positioned between the two moving carts and became pinned as the carts passed each other. The victim was alert and conscious when he was transported to Paoli Hospital.

Doctors at Paoli immediately determined that the boy had multiple serious injuries, and the victim was immediately taken to the operating room. During the operation, it was determined that the boy had suffered extensive internal injuries. He went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.

The victim’s name has been withheld.
