Honey Brook held its annual Harmony Day Sept. 19, featuring many types of vendors for all ages, including Origami Owl, Penn Medicine, and Blue Marsh Insurance, Honey Brook Food Pantry, Aj Blosenski’s Trash and Recycling Service, Hickory House, Heatherwood Retirement Community, Jen Bauer Fitness, and Chester County Dairy Promotion.

Danielle Stanley, 18, had her own stand decorated to the theme of fall. She sold different fall themed snacks and drinks to raise money for her mission’s trip.

“I liked seeing all of the different stands. I think it’s awesome to see the variety of things available, and to meet the people who are passionate about those things,” Stanley said.

Honey Brook Harmony Day was run by the Honey Brook Partnership Committee. This year there were 40 different vendors. Dawn Schaffer and Kathy Thompson are co-chair members of the committee and they helped to set up.

Hickory House worked with Brook Family Farms to get the horses at Harmony Day.

Thompson says, “The children really love the horses, so we worked to bring them back again this year.”

Hickory House also worked on setting up Children’s games to make the day more fun for the children that came for their parents.

Heatherwood Retirement Community sponsored entertainment by The Blue Voice band, who recently got together for the event. The band consisted of five members; bass player Mike Vitale, guitar player Paul Colombo, singer Steph Jo Wise, drummer Dave Santana, and singer Amy Schaffer. The band only had one rehearsal together and then preformed on Saturday. They sang many different genre’s of music, from country to old rock.

“The band sounded great. I had no idea that they had only practiced together once,” said local community member Katlyn Haines.

The Gideons International, Chester County Central Camp Officers Glenn Ritter and Larry Farkas handed out bibles to community members. Ritter was also the official photographer for the event. He also worked with Kim Harris from the Rehab Center and a Honey Brook Partnership Committee member, on the layout of the event.

“It’s a great way to get the community together,” said Ritter. “There are many different kinds of people that can come together.”

The next event in Honey Brook is the Halloween Parade on Oct. 26, time to be determined.
