State Police have released the name of the driver who was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Lyons Road on Sept. 19.
David J. Reimer Jr., 22, of Hamburg was pronounced dead after a crash that occurred on Lyons Road, 262 feet east of Stettler Road, in Maxatawny Township at 8:44 p.m.
Reimer was driving northbound when the crash occurred. He attempted to pass another vehicle on the left hand side, moving into the oncoming lane of the traffic. When he realized a car was coming, he attempted to pass back into his lane of travel and went onto the grass on the east side of the roadway. Reimer’s vehicle struck a large rock, causing the vehicle to roll, and came to a final rest 200 feet north of the point of impact, where it struck a tree.
Topton EMS responded, but Reimer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police investigate damage to Greenlane resident’s yard
State Police from Reading are investigating an incident of criminal mischief that occurred between Sept. 19 at 12:01 a.m. and Sept. 20 at 12 a.m.
It was reported that the unknown actor(s) involved drove around the victim’s yard, ripping up the grass and causing tire marks. The incident occurred at the residence of the victim, a 60-year-old woman, located on Deer Run Road in District Township.

Two-car collision on Bernville Road
State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Bernville Road at approximately 8:55 a.m. on Sept. 22.
The incident occurred as driver James Stein, 68, of Schuylkill Haven, was stopped at a stop sign on Bernville Road at its intersection with New Schaefferstown Road. The other driver, Bryan McCorriston, 45, of Altoona, was operating a semi-trailer and failed to observe Stein’s vehicle stopped in front of him. McCorriston struck the vehicle of Stein.
Stein, and his passenger, were both transported by Bethel EMS to Reading Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
McCorriston was uninjured. He will be cited for the incident.
