Julia’s Grace Foundation was created to honor the dreams and wishes of Julia Grace Eveland, an eight-year-old from Royersford who lost her battle with childhood cancer in September 2013. Through the work of Julia’s Grace Foundation, her spirit continues to live.
It all started with Julia, a little girl with big blue eyes that sparkled with every smile, who with unbounded optimism was not afraid to sing out loud because she knew the sun would come out tomorrow. Julia was a generous spirit who cared about others and took action giving away her presents to other children with cancer and raising money to help doctors that were working to find a cure. Julia always thought of others. Right before she lost her battle, she shared a list of things to “make us happy” for when we needed it. This list provides the basis of the Julia Grace’s Foundation’s “HUGS.” Julia’s Grace Foundation continues Julia’s work of bringing happiness to children with cancer and their families. The Foundation also grants assistance or “graces” to families experiencing financial hardship due to the direct result of a child’s cancer treatment and care, raises money to be used to fund childhood cancer research projects, and works to increase public awareness of childhood cancer.
