Planes will swoop, trains will chug and automobiles will motor down Main Street in this year’s Elverson Halloween Parade, to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21, beginning at 7 p.m. at the corner of South Pine and Main Streets. This year’s theme of Planes, Trains and Automobiles should provide an exciting variety of floats and rousing band music as the parade progresses down Main Street to the National Penn Bank. Spectators will also be treated to pre-parade entertainment at the Elverson Deli and the Elverson Supply parking lot. Food and drinks will be available for purchase along the parade route. Candy will be handed to children lining the parade route.

Spectator parking will be available at the Evangelical Free Church on Brick Lane, Elverson Borough Hall and Livingood Park on South Chestnut Street, and the National Penn Bank. There will be no parking at the Elverson Fitness Center, St Joseph’s Urgent Care Center or the Heritage Medical Center. Please note that Stable Drive may be closed the night of the parade and that Route 23 (Main Street) will be closed to all vehicular traffic at 6:30 p.m. All access to South Pine Street will be from Route 401.

For safety’s sake, please consider leaving your dogs at home, and do not ride bicycles on Main Street during the parade. Feel free to come in costume and cheer for your favorite entry.

The rain date is Oct. 22, and any postponement notice will be posted on the Borough website the morning of Oct. 21. Let’s hope we don’t have to use the rain date!
