There’s a new gym in town. Beyond Fit will be celebrating a grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 10, at their new studio located in Douglassville

Beyond Fit will be offering exercise classes, personal training and customized fitness plans.

The opening is set to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 39 Old Swede Road and will feature mini-classes (on the hour), an opportunity to meet the trainer, membership specials, and light refreshments.

“Our mission is to create a positive and inviting fitness environment for all members which promotes healthy lifestyle through fitness and nutrition,” says co-owner Aja Betts. “Our method of training helps members develop better movement functionality and perform to the best of their abilities. The gym will offer a variety of strength, cardio and mobility classes which can be tailored to all fitness levels.”

Betts explained that she and Tammy McCarthy decided to open the gym in order to meet a demand for a group exercise studio in the area.

“In addition, we have a unique program that has attracted about 30 members to our outdoor boot camp classes, which started in July and are held 3 times a week at local playgrounds. We needed a place to hold classes in bad weather and in the evening now that daylight is limited,” said Betts.

Betts, with a bachelor’s in business administration and finance, says McCarthy has a bachelors degree in kinesiology and exercise science. She is recognized by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM EP-C).
