The Twin Valley Rotary Club of Morgantown is hosting its first annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Friday, November 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at he Conestoga Christian Church, 2279 Main Street, Morgantown. All funds raised will benefit the Twin Valley Food Pantry which serves 150 families from Berks, Lancaster, and Chester County each month.

The Empty Bowls Project is a grassroots movement to end hunger that was started in 1990 by artists John Harton and Lisa Blackburn.

Participants will select a hand crafted bowl created by a local potter. They will have their choice of 10 different soups prepared by local restaurants along with bread and a drink. Participants will leave with their empty bowl as a reminder of others hunger around the world.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available in advance or at the door. Children under ten may receive soup in a plastic bowl for $5. The event is limited to the first 200 people. Call 610-286-7689 or 484-796-4231 for tickets.

The following restaurants will be providing soup: Heritage Restaurant, September Farm, Tel Hai Retirement Community, Goodwill Methodist Church, Petrangeli’s, Twin Valley High School, Phoebe’s Purr Food, Dans at Green Hills, Stirling Guest Hotel, Windmill Family Restaurant, and Shady Maple Smorgasbord.

Conestoga Christian School, Susan Moore, Diane Dobbins, Elayne Baker, Bebe Poor, Allathea Jonic, Jill Moyer, Tel Hai Retirement Community, Donna Clifton, and Catriona McDermott.
