At approximately 8:01 p.m. on Oct. 5, an accident involving two vehicles occurred on Kutztown Road, 150 feet south of Moselem Springs Road, in Richmond Township.
Both drivers, Elizabeth Borrero, 47, of Reading and Kenneth Gerhart, 66, of Allentown were traveling south of Kutztown Road. Gerhart stopped in the southbound lane for a tractor trailer turning right into the Speedway store. Borrero failed to make any evasive moves or attempts to avoid striking the rear of Gerhart’s vehicle. The front end of Borrero’s vehicle struck the rear of Gerhart’s vehicle, moving both vehicles approximately 20 feet from the point of impact.
Gerhart was able to move his vehicle to the shoulder area of Kutztown road, but Borrero’s vehicle sustained major front end damage and was unable to be moved.
Fleetwood Ambulance responded. Fleetwood and Walnuttown Fire Companies responded. No injuries were reported. Borrero will be charged with summary traffic violations.
