DOULGASS (Mont.) >> Longtime incumbent Supervisor John Stasik appears to have been ousted by a challenge from Republican first-time candidate Alan Keiser, according to unofficial results.

Figures posted on the Montgomery County elections web site after 11 p.m. showed 1,669 votes cast and Keiser with 1,061 of them to Stasik’s 608.

Those numbers are about 1,000 less than the number of votes cast in Douglass last year, according to county election records, but the site indicates it was 100 percent reporting.

Stasik, who is currently the three-member board’s chairman, has more than 25 years of local government experience in a variety of roles.

The position carries a term of six years.

Keiser, is a family doctor whose most public experience with local government is his involvement with the fight against Mountain Mulch, which this year vacated protected open space on Sassamansville Road after clashing with neighbors, including Keiser.
