Exeter Township Manager Troy Bingaman has tendered his resignation and he will soon be serving as manager in Amity Township.

On Nov. 4, the Amity Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the resolution to hire Bingaman as Amity Township’s new manager.

He will replace Charles E. Lyon, who is retiring after serving as Amity Township’s manager since July 2003.

Bingaman has served as manager in Exeter Township for 27 years.

“While the Board is sad to see him go, we wish him the best of luck. On behalf of all the residents of Exeter Township, we thank Troy for his service,” said the Exeter Township Board of Supervisors in a Nov. 5 memorandum.

His last day as Exeter’s manager will be Nov. 17.

“The [Exeter] Board has taken the necessary steps to ensure both an orderly transition and the continuation of providing a high level of service to our residents.”

Amity Supervisors Richard L. Gokey and Terry L. Jones were absent from the Nov. 4 meeting.
