Diakon Adoption & Foster Care’s Northeastern Pennsylvania office, in Topton, has received a $1,000 grant through Wells Fargo’s Community Connections Giving Program.

Each Wells Fargo banking location selects a local nonprofit to receive a grant. In all, the bank will aware more than $300,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations and schools across Pennsylvania this year.

The grant will be used toward programming that supports successful placements of waiting children with foster and adoptive families, according to Kathy Roach, director of the Topton office of Diakon Adoption & Foster Care.

“We, and our families, deeply appreciate the bank’s support,” said Roach.

The grants are part of Wells Fargo’s broader community support efforts. In 2014, the bank invested more than $13.4 million in nonprofit organizations and schools across the state, while bank staff members volunteered some 52,000 hours of service to community organizations.
