On Nov. 20 at approximately 6:45 a.m., State Police from the Hamburg station responded to a two vehicle at Lancaster Avenue in Bethel Township.

The crash occurred as driver Francisco Mundaray-Valerio, 27, of Reading, was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Martha Drive from Lancaster Avenue. The second driver, Nolan Lapp, 23, of Pine Grove, was traveling southbound on Lancaster Avenue and had the right of way when Mundaray-Valerio turned directly in front of him.

Lapp was unable to avoid striking Mundaray-Valerio’s vehicle. Lapp sustained minor injuries and appeared confused as a result of the crash. He was transported by ambulance to Reading Hospital for an evaluation.

Mundaray-Valerio was uninjured and will be cited for the incident.

Police find overturned abandoned vehicle

State Police at the Hamburg station reported that an overturned maroon Dodge Durango was found abandoned in a field along Shoey Road in Centre Township, approximately one mile west of Shoemakersville Borough.

The unknown operator wrecked while attempting to negotiate a hard curve, then fled the scene sometime overnight. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene. The registered owner comes back to a Reading address, and has not yet been reached at this time.
