Fleetwood Girl Scout Brownie Troop 144 visited Camp Mosey Wood for the day to enjoy a special event they host called “Pony Days.” During the course of the day, the girls learned basic horse safety, which included the proper way to put on a helmet. They got to meet the horses and pet them. After learning more horse skills, each of the girls got to ride a horse as they were led around a ring three times. That was their favorite part of the whole day.
The girls also played soccer, Frisbee and large egg races. They enjoyed a break with a snack of apples and learned that apples are the horses’ treat of choice! The girls listened to a horse story that their troop leader brought and read to them about a girl and her dream horse. Finally, they ended the day painting and “markering” horse masterpieces on little wooden horses.
