A woman was robbed outside the BB&T Bank at 46 West Main Street in Fleetwood early on Jan. 6.

At about 5:30 a.m., a man approached a woman at the night deposit drop box, located on the Richmond Street side of the bank,and forcibly grabbed a money bag as she was attempting to deposit money into the drop box, according to Fleetwood Police.

With an unknown amount of cash, the man fled on foot toward Main Street. He was last seen heading east.

The woman, whose name was not released by police, suffered a minor hand injury as a result of the struggle.

The suspect is described as a younger man, dressed in black clothes with a hood or mask covering most of his face.

“The man was described as white, from what the female could see from his face,” Patrolman Michael Quinn reported in a police report.
