Montgomery County snow emergency declarations, school district event cancellations

Due to the Blizzard Warning forecast for the Montgomery County area Friday evening through Sunday morning, the following townships have declared a snow emergency:

LOWER PROVIDENCE: A snow emergency will go into effect at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 through 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25. This snow emergency is subject to change. For more details, visit the Lower Providence Township website.

WEST NORRITON: A snow emergency will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice. For more details, visit the West Norriton Township website.

UPPER MERION: A snow emergency will go into effect at 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25. The end time may be extended due to weather conditions. For more details, visit the Upper Merion Township website.

CONSHOHOCKEN: A snow emergency will go into effect at 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice. For more details, visit the Conshohocken Borough website.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN: A snow emergency went into effect at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25 (if the current forecast doesn’t change). For more details, visit the West Conshohocken Borough website.

ROYERSFORD: A snow emergency will go into effect Friday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. until further notice. For more details, visit the Royersford Borough website.

UPPER POTTSGROVE: A snow emergency will go into effect Friday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. until noon on Sunday, Jan. 24. For more details visit the Upper Pottsgrove Township website.

LANSDALE: A snow emergency will go into effect at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice. For more details, visit the Lansdale Borough Police Department Facebook page.

NORTH WALES: A snow emergency will go into effect at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23 until 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.

HATFIELD: A snow emergency will go into effect at noon Friday, Jan. 22 through the duration of the storm.

ABINGTON: A snow emergency will go into effect at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until noon on Sunday, Jan. 24. For more details, visit the Abington Township website.

HATBORO: A snow emergency will go into effect at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice.

FRANCONIA: A snow emergency will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25.

POTTSTOWN: A state of emergency will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25.

TOWAMENCIN: A snow emergency will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24. For more information visit the Towamencin Township website.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP: A snow emergency effective went into effect at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice. Visit www.MontgomeryTwp.org for more information.

UPPER GWYNEDD: A snow emergency went into effect at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25. For more information visit www.UpperGWynedd.org.

SPRINGFIELD: A snow emergency will go into effect at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until noon on Sunday, Jan. 24.

PERKIOMEN: A snow emergency will go into effect at 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.

WHITPAIN: A snow emergency went into effect at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice. For more details, visit the Whitpain Township website.

WORCESTER: A snow emergency will go into effect at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until further notice.

BRIDGEPORT: A snow emergency will go into effect at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until noon on Sunday, Jan. 24.

SOUDERTON: A snow emergency will go into effect at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until 11 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.

LOWER SALFORD: A snow emergency is in effect until 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.

LOWER GWYNEDD: A snow emergency will go into effect 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 until noon on Sunday, Jan. 24.

Due to the weather forecast, Montgomery County school districts have made the following cancellations:

POTTSGROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to the impending winter storm the following schedule will be in place this weekend:

As of Friday, 6 p.m., all PGSD activities are cancelled and the campuses are closed.

All Saturday and Sunday school and community events are cancelled including LPAA Basketball, Pottsgrove Soccer Club, and Pottsgrove Little League registration

Cars should not be parked in school lots as of Friday evening and through the weekend. Our facilities and maintenance staff will be working Saturday and Sunday to clear snow.

Presently, the storm is slated to impact us all day Saturday. Our goal is to have everything cleared for a full day of school on Monday. Any updates about the school schedule for Monday will be communicated through SchoolMessenger and posted on the district website and Facebook page.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to the impending storm, all Perkiomen Valley School District buildings will close at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, and will remain closed through Sunday, Jan. 24. All scheduled activities at our buildings during this time period have been cancelled. Please keep an eye to the website, www.pvsd.org, for any updates that may be posted throughout the weekend, and stay safe.

NORTH PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT: All North Penn facilities are closed Saturday, Jan. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 24 and all district and community activities, including SATs, are canceled for Saturday and Sunday. For more information visit www.NPenn.org.

SOUDERTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT: Due to expected inclement weather, Souderton Area School District buildings will be closed and activities canceled on Saturday, Jan. 23 and Sunday Jan. 24. For more information visit www.SoudertonSD.org.
