Saint Peter’s UCC of Molltown, in Fleetwood, celebrated the Installation of their new pastor, Rev. Susan Ohl, on Sunday, Jan. 17. The service was officiated by Rev. Sara Hertzog, chair of the East Berks UCC Association Committee on Ministry, and Rev. Wanda D. Craner, Minister of Spiritual Nurture of the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference United Church of Christ.

Also participating in the Installation service were Rev. Paul Jones, pastor of St. John’s UCC, Pricetown; Mr. Russel Hottenstein, St. Peter’s Consistory President; St. Peter’s Chancel Choir, under the direction of Phyllis Angstadt; and 17 members of St. Peter’s congregation who performed the skit “The Tate Family.”

Rev. Ohl is a graduate of Evangelical Seminary in Myerstown, Pennsylvania. She was ordained at Zion’s Church, Windsor Castle, Hamburg, where she completed her ministry internship. She has previously served as pastor of Christ UCC, Walnutport and St. John’s UCC, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey. She was Associate Pastor at Zion’s UCC, Windsor Castle and Frieden’s Church, Shartlesville, where she was also Director of Music. Most recently, she served as interim pastor at First UCC, Hamburg. She began serving as pastor of Saint Peter’s Church in October 2015, replacing Rev. Darryl Hamm who accepted a pastoral call in Hamburg.

Rev. Ohl is particularly at home in the Pennsylvania Dutch community and is excited about serving the Lord alongside the faithful congregation of St. Peter’s Church. Visitors are always welcome to participate in St. Peter’s traditional style worship services and their numerous musical and social events.

St. Peter’s Church is one of the “twin churches” located on the top of the hill at the intersection of Maidencreek Road and Church Hill Road in Molltown.
