Frecon Farms is getting ready to roll out a new winter menu and everyone is invited to a taste.

The store’s annual Winter Warmer Open House event will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Preparing to roll out the brand new food line alongside his team, Josh Smith says this open house is the “biggest tasting event of the year.”

There will be more than 25 new savory food items introduced.

“We go through a vigorous testing phase for all of our menu items,” said Smith.

Frecon Farms is still getting things underway; he says the soups are done and they’re very excited about the cookies, noting an espresso oatmeal cookie.

The menu items themselves are chosen through a combination of efforts.

“Holly presents what she wants to do, Her and I widdle it down, we choose what fits best. Then Holly, myself, and Steve Frecon (owner) selects what’s best,” said Smith. “It’s a fun process; it’s what we do for a living – its food.”

The new menu items will be available for the next two months, until springtime arrives.

The open house is free and open to the public.
