PennDOT announced Thursday morning that they will be shutting down part of Route 422 at 11 a.m. today for pavement repair.

422 west will be closed and detoured at the Route 100 Interchange today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement repairs in the construction zone where a new bridge is being constructed over the Schuylkill River in North Coventry Township, Chester County, and West Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, PennDOT said in press release today.

Route 422 traffic will be detoured onto Route 100 north. Drivers will then follow Route 100 north to westbound High Street, and take High Street west to return to Route 422 west.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel.

Crews will mill deteriorated asphalt and patch the pavement to remove potholes that developed on the bridge and roadway approaches since the weekend snowstorm.
