Cabela’s announces Spring Great Outdoor Days I and Turkey Classic

Cabela’s Of Hamburg has announced plans to host their annual Spring Great Outdoor Days I and Turkey Classic on March 12 and 13. Featured seminars and demonstrations will offer insight and training for customers with all levels of experience. The seminars will be presented by the store’s staff. Join us on this weekend as we focus on turkey hunting and fishing along with a fun time for Kids. The following events and seminars will be taking place all weekend.

Saturday, March 12

10 to 11 a.m., Choosing The Right Trout Combo: Confused about what rod and reel you need? How about the weight of line that you should have on that new combo? Can’t decide between closed face and open face? Our Outfitters will walk you thru making the right decision before you purchase that new rod and reel to ensure you will be out on the water having fun and catching fish. Located in the Fishing Department.

11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Talking Turkey: Join our expert Outfitters and learn how to select the correct call as well as how to properly use that call to make your upcoming hunt a success. Lots of hands on tips and secrets from the Pros in the woods. Located in the Hunting Department.

12 to 1 p.m., Dressing For The Hunt: Now that you have the correct call we will get you set with the Camo to match your hunting area. The vision of the turkey in the woods is second to none. Learn how to dress to make yourself completely invisible to old Tom Turkey. Located in the Camo Department.

12 to 2 p.m., Kid’s Scavenger Hunt: A scavenger hunt within the store where all kids up to the age of 12 years old can have a fun and educational experience locating the animals and fish within the different departments. Pick up your scavenger hunt sheet at customer service and identify and locate all the animals and fish found throughout the store. Once you have found them all return your sheet to customer service and collect a free prize.

1 to 2 p.m., Spring Tune Up For Your Boat: The ice is gone and the weather is getting warmer. Now is the time to uncover the boat and make sure you are ready to hit the water. Stop in the Marine Department to learn exactly what you will need to get the job done.

Sunday, March 13

10 to 11 a.m., Live Bait vs. Artificial Bait: Can’t decide between worms, salmon eggs, lures of minnows? Speak with our Outfitters who have the years of experience fishing with all of these baits and let them guide you to the correct decision based on where you are fishing as well as water conditions. Located in the Fishing Department.

11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Ground Blinds & Chairs: Stop by the Hunting Department and see the latest in ground blinds and chairs and learn how to stay comfortable and concealed while calling in that trophy Turkey.

12 to 1 p.m., Cooking Your Bird: Now that you have your trophy, learn the proper preparation and cooking techniques. We will be having hands on demos in front of the store with our fryers and seasonings to show you the latest methods and techniques.

1 to 2 p.m., Smokers 101: Get set for smoking your spring gobbler or your trophy rainbow trout. We will be doing smoking demos in front of the store as well as showing you the correct smoking technique for fish, fowl and wild game.
