NORRISTOWN >> A Philadelphia man was told to stay away from pornography, alcohol and marijuana when he was sentenced for charges stemming from the indecent assault of an 8-year-old girl in Lower Salford.

Dae Quann Vaughn, 19, pleaded guilty Sept. 29 in Montgomery County Court to felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors, as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and indecent exposure.

He was sentenced Friday by Judge Garrett D. Page to six months of time already served to 23 months in jail, according to court documents. The sentence also stipulated that Vaughn undergo intensive out-patient treatment, and that he uses “no computers, no internet/social media in regards to sexual materials or chats,” the judge noted on the sentencing documents.

Lower Salford Township Police arrested Vaughn March 29, 2015 at a home on Main Street in Salford after responding to a disturbance at the address. Police were told that Vaughn and the girl were found together partially unclothed, according to the arrest affidavit.

During the investigation, police were told that the girl was playing on a computer when Vaughn grabbed her and pulled down her pants, according to the affidavit. Vaughn had his own pants down and exposed himself to the girl and began touching her in a sexual manner, until her screams of “No, stop” alerted other adults in the home.

According to the affidavit, Vaughn admitted to police that he exposed himself to the girl and that he molested her and considered committing further sexual acts before he was interrupted.

Sentencing was delayed until Vaughn could be evaluated by the Adult Probation Department and the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board, court documents state.

In addition to the jail time, Vaughn was sentenced to serve 10 years of probation following parole, court documents said, for a total period of supervision of about 12 years.
