American Legion Post 537 Morgantown recently received two “American Legion Legacy Scholarship Awards.”
One award was for the Auxiliary, and the other for the Legion. It remains our civic duty and a point of pride to ensure children of fallen post 9/11 service members are able to receive the best education possible after losing a parent in defense of this country.
While our federal and some state governments offer significant aid to those children whose parents were lost in war, a funding gap remains. The Legacy Scholarship is able to bridge the financial needs gap to ensure these children are able to cover the cost of their education.
