Copper plates were stolen from an AT&T communication tower at 329 Church Road, Maxatawny Township.

According to State Police Reading, between Oct. 17, 2015 and Feb. 1, an unknown person or people entered into or over a secured chain link barb wire fence and removed four copper plates that were used as electrical grounding in case of a lightning strike at an AT&T communication tower.

Two of the copper plates were about 4 inches by 24 inches by 1/2 thick and the other two plates were about 4 inches by 36 inches by 1/2 inch thick.

The value of the four copper plates is about $1,100.

The person or people entered the secured location undetected and fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Burglary at Topstar Express in Maxatawny Township

State Police report that on Feb. 4 between 2:30 and 4:50 a.m., an unknown person or people took items from the Topstar Express, 15518 Kutztown Road, Maxatawny.

Topton Borough license plate missing from borough dump truck

State Police Reading report that an employee of Topton Borough noticed that the licence plate was missing from the rear of a 1990 Green Chevrolet Model 70 Dump Truck. The license plate is believed to have been rusted and fell off during snow removal from the recent snow storm between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1.
