After a week-long rivalry between two Governor Mifflin schools, the winner of the fifth annual Souper Bowl food drive will be the Mifflin Area Food Bank.

Governor Mifflin Intermediate School and Governor Mifflin Middle School, coached by teachers Michael Evak and Lois Carrier respectively, spent last week collecting non-perishable donations for the food bank.

The drive, with a Super Bowl theme, is a friendly competition between the schools. This year, the combined total number of items set a new record for donations. The schools collected 1,756 items. The Intermediate School won the competition by collecting 1,459 of those items.

Evak and Carrier dropped of the items at the food bank on Wednesday, Feb. 10, after school.
