The Rotary Club of Hamburg will present its second annual Rotary District 7430 Four-Way Speech Contest on Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m., at the Hamburg Area High School, 701 Windsor Street. The event will be held in the Large-Group Instruction Room.

Four students will participate this year, and cash prizes will be awarded as follows: $100 First, $50 Second and $25 Third and Fourth. A First Place winner from this local contest will advance to the Regional competition on March 19 in Reading, and that First Place winner will advance to the final District Competition on April 9 in the Poconos. Any student in grades nine to 12 enrolled in public, private or charter school is eligible to compete.

Serving as judges in 2016 are Titus A. Miller III, Rotary Past-President, a retired vineyard owner and a retired elementary teacher; Beth Heckart, also a Rotarian and Vice President and Business Development Officer, Tompkins VIST Bank, Hamburg; and Lori B. Donofrio-Galley, Executive Director, Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce. The Rotary Club of Hamburg is a member of the Northeast Berks Chamber of Commerce.
