Recently, 30 members from the Fleetwood Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America attended the 2016 State Leadership Conference held in Hershey. At the conference, the Fleetwood Chapter was ranked as the fifth best chapter (out of 293 chapters) for the 2015-2016 school year. This ranking is known as the William Selden Outstanding Chapter Award.

To receive this distinction, the chapter must complete many activities aimed at the goals of the Future Business Leaders of America and submit all of the corresponding paperwork to the state office.

The Fleetwood Chapter was also awarded with second place for the total community service hours logged, known as the Big 33. And, the chapter also received fourth place for the submission of the Local Chapter Annual Business Report, which was prepared by senior member Amanda Meck.

In addition to the chapter being recognized, individuals from the Fleetwood Chapter received recognition for their accomplishments. They are as follows: Julia Donohoe and Amanda Meck, second place for the Membership Mania Recruitment Award; Ying Ling, first place for community service hours; Samantha Evans, 10th place in Healthcare Administration; the team of Carter Miller and Harry Zheng, ninth place Global Business; the team of Ethan Miller, Duncan Cahalan and Daniel Shomper, second place for their Partnership with Business Project; the team of Amanda Meck, Ian O’Keefe and Max Vogel, fourth place for their Community Service Project; and the team of Alicia Stitzel, Christopher Logar and Laura Kaskey, third place for their American Enterprise Project.

The chapter now has nine members that qualified for the national competition. These students will be representing Fleetwood at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in June, in Atlanta, Georgia.
