The American Cancer Society has selected Jennifer DiArcangelo as honorary chair and survivor speaker for this year’s Relay for Life of Twin Valley event, which will take place at Twin Valley High School on May 14 and 15.

Jen has been active with Relay for Life for several years, captaining a team and also serving on the Event Leadership Team in various roles including Event Chair in 2010. She is also a cancer Survivor. In December 2005, Jen was diagnosed with a rare grade III anaplastic astrocytoma brain tumor. As a young mother, she fought hard and beat the cancer. And today, she continues to fight for others.

Others serving on the Event Leadership Team include Christina Romberger, Event Lead; Jo Young, Bring the People Lead/Community Champion; Kristin Graham, Entertainment & Activities; Brody Wertman, Logistics; Pam Kehl, Concessions; Summer Kehl, Youth Ambassador; Christine Osborn, Luminaria; and Terri Feeney, Marketing and Social Media.

The Relay for Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loves ones lost and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay for Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams raise funds in the months leading up to the event.

The Relay for Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community, with four million participants in 6,000 events worldwide in 2015. Last year, more than 300 people participated in the Relay for Life of Twin Valley and raised more than $40,000.
