Looking to get started on researching your family tree? Then, you don’t want to miss the spring “Introduction to Genealogy” workshop presented by Genealogist Rose Brown at the Historical Society of Montgomery County. This four-week workshop, which will include basic research tips for tracing ancestry, will run four consecutive Tuesdays, May 10 through May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ms. Brown has been working with family genealogy for more than 40 years. She served as part-time librarian at the Historical Society for 18 years, and during that time, she handled genealogy requests and assisted in research which added to her vast knowledge of genealogy research techniques. Brown has been teaching “Introductory Genealogy Workshops” for 14 years and “Intermediate Genealogy Workshops” for seven years.

Workshop seating is limited; pre-registration is required. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a non-refundable materials fee for Society members and for non-members.

The Historical Society of Montgomery County, located at 1654 DeKalb Street, Norristown, is handicapped accessible; limited off-street parking is available behind headquarters. To register or for more information, call the Society at 610-272-0297 or e-mail contact@hsmcpa.org.
