On Saturday, April 2, the Boyertown Community Library hosted a highly-anticipated event with the Kutztown University Quidditch team.
A dozen college players came to the library property on Second Street (by the ambulance company) and taught fifteen local youth how to play the game, made famous in the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling. There were rigorous drills on running while holding a broom, catching and throwing one handed, scoring goals, and how to avoid getting hit by a bludger. The youth then were split into two teams for a game, which came to an end once the snitch (in a yellow t-shirt) was caught.
This was the second year that the library held this well-received event, and we hope to do it again next season.
