On Saturday, May 14, more than 200 Elverson, Morgantown and Honey Brook area residents will join together at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Twin Valley to help save more lives from cancer. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday morning at the Twin Valley High School.

The Relay For Life movement unites communities to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Relay For Life events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.

The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community, with four million participants in 6,000 events worldwide in 2015. Since 2001, the Relay For Life of Twin Valley has raised more than $1 million to support the American Cancer Society.

Dollars raised help the ACS save lives by funding groundbreaking cancer research, supporting education and risk reduction efforts and providing free information and critical services for people with cancer who need them.

In addition to the support of the community, Relay For Life of Twin Valley is also supported by many businesses and organizations. The law firm of Leisawitz Heller is a long-time sponsor of our event and Diamond Credit Union is a County-wide sponsor of all Berks County Relay Events.
