Albright College has once again received the Bronze Award from the United Way of Berks County for its support and contributions to the organization’s 2016 campaign.

This is the 16th year that Albright has received the recognition. The Bronze Award is presented to employee groups achieving per-capita giving of $25 to $99.

Members of the Albright community contributed $24,000 to the United Way’s collective effort to raise more than $10.2 million during its 2016 campaign. The United Way focuses on education, income, health and safety net services in the community, and supports 34 agency partners, with funded programs and initiatives helping more than 100,000 local people annually.

“On behalf of a highly dedicated United Way Committee and our greater Albright community, I am honored for Albright to receive the Bronze Award recognition from the United Way once again,” said Kim Hubric, Albright director of human resources and chair of the College’s United Way Committee.

“Our faculty, staff and students all came together through pledges and special events such as the Silent Auction, Soup to Nuts, and the Chili Cookoff to meet our campaign goal,” said Hubric. “We are all looking forward to our 2017 campaign, when we hope to raise over $25,000.”
