Sundays in the park this summer feature music or theatrical performances for all ages in Berks County Parks. The Kids Series at 4 p.m. brings in entertainers just right for kids and their families to enjoy, before an evening concert. The Kids Series opens Sunday, June 12 with a fun play “Beware the Jabberwock” from the classic “Alice in Wonderland,” performed by young actors of Yocum Institute for Arts Education’s Junior Theatre Ensemble at 4 p.m. by the Gring’s Mill pavilion.

Join us as we transport to the mysterious Tulgey Wood, full of weird and wonderful creatures. Emma and Lucy are lost in this land inspired by the Jabberwock poem in Alice in Wonderland. Joined by Percy the knight, they come face to face with the awesome Jabberwock! The play is by Ron Nicol, produced with permission from Samuel French, Inc. Visit www.institute-of-arts.org for more information.

Bring a picnic supper and stay for the evening concert in the amphitheater at 6 p.m. with Magdaliz and her Latin Ensemble Crisol. There is a nominal parking donation, and the rain date is June 19.

The rest of the lineup is as follows: June 26, The Amazing Bologna Brothers!
