Klein Transportation is one of the few bus companies in the region that has been family owned and operated for nearly 60 years. Klein Transportation operates a fleet of late model MCI deluxe motorcoaches, and school buses. The fleet is available for scheduled tours and individual charter.

Klein professional school bus and motorcoach drivers Barry Willman, Julie Dietrich and Lisa Moore will compete in the 42nd Annual Berks County School Bus Driver Safety Competition to be held on Saturday, May 14 at Oley Valley Middle School in Oley. The competition is sponsored by the Berks County Pupil Transportation Association.

The competition will include three assessments: a written test, a driving skills test and a vehicle inspection test. Safety competitions have proven to be one of the most effective instructional tools to improve a person’s driving skills. Formerly known as the School Bus Rodeo, the competition will award the top 10 contestants with an award certificate as well as an invitation to participate in the PA School Bus Driver Safety Competition to be held on June 24 and 25. Pennsylvania winners will be selected to move on to this year’s National Competition that will be held July 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

“The transportation of school students is the backbone upon which our business was built almost 60 years ago,” said John Coakley, Vice President of Operations at Klein. “This competition allows Klein to shine the spotlight on a few of our drivers that routinely transport school students safely. We realize we carry the most precious cargo on our coaches and school buses and we are very proud of both our safety ratings as well as the professionalism of our drivers.”
