On June 18, from 6 to 9 p.m., join the Daniel Boone Homestead for a relaxed, summer evening with live music by Bob Hassler and The American Masters. This year’s program will also include horse-drawn wagon rides, wine sampling, the Amity Colonial Dancers and old-fashioned ice cream making.
Volunteers will offer guided tours of the Boone House and the Bertolet Log House throughout the evening. Visitors will have an opportunity to view the Homestead’s buildings and take a horse-drawn wagon ride through the historic area as the sun sets. Children can play with 18th century toys and lawn games on the grassy knoll near the Visitor Center and watch old-fashioned ice cream making demonstrations by the Boone House. A blacksmith will also be hard at work in his shop.
Adult visitors can enjoy complimentary wine sampling provided by Ridgewood Winery in the Bertolet Log House set up as a tavern. In addition, they will be selling bottles of their wine during the evening.
As part of the Berks Country Fest, An Americana Music Jamboree, the Daniel Boone Homestead welcomes Bob Hassler and The American Masters to our site. A trio of musicians, they will perform family-friendly folk and Americana music.
There is an admission charge for this event. The Homestead asks that you please leave your dogs and other pets at home and refrain from smoking in the historic area. Please bring a blanket or chairs for the concert and be aware the ground may be muddy. This program is sponsored and run by the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead. Don’t miss this unique experience and fun for the whole family.
