The annual Boyertown Memorial Day Parade, hosted by the Charles B. Yerger American Legion Post No. 471, will start forming at 9 a.m. Monday, May 30.

It will begin at the Boyertown High School Monroe Street entrance at 9:15 a.m. and will travel west on Philadelphia Avenue. The parade will lead to Fairview Cemetery, where at 10:15 a.m., a memorial service will remember fallen soldiers, veterans and active military members.

Preceding the parade – there will be a brief ceremony at the Carl A Spaatz memorial around 8:30 a.m. and another brief ceremony at the Union Cemetery shortly after 9 a.m. by the American Legion Firing Squad.

Mayor Marianne Deery encourages the community to attend these events.

West Philadelphia Ave will be closed to traffic between Terrace Street and W. Second Street (in front of the cemetery) until the conclusion of the ceremony.
