Muhlenberg College honored its Phi Beta Kappa recipients in an induction ceremony on Sunday, May 1. The ceremony was held in Seegers Union at 12 p.m.

Lauren Warning, of the Class of 2016, was recognized as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Muhlenberg College Chapter. Established in 1776 at the College of William and Mary, Phi Beta Kappa is a distinguished fellowship of scholars devoted to liberal education and intellectual pursuits. The Muhlenberg Chapter was granted a charter by the national honor society in 1967. Based on national standards, election to Phi Beta Kappa represents the most outstanding academic achievement in the arts and sciences.

Additionally, Lauren is a recipient of The American Chemical Society Prize, Lehigh Valley Section, which is awarded to an outstanding senior chemistry or biochemistry major planning a career in chemistry or biochemistry.

Lauren is a chemistry major and mathematics minor and public health minor from Mertztown. She is the child of Mr. and Mrs. Warning and is a graduate of Kutztown Area High School.

Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is a highly selective liberal arts college in Allentown. It is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
