Pennsylvania American Water has announced 10 students across Pennsylvania have been selected to receive Stream of Learning Scholarships, including a Berks County high school senior.

This is the seventh year Pennsylvania American Water has offered this program, which supports outstanding students within its service areas who are charting a course of study critical to the water and wastewater industry. Each winning student receives a $2,000 scholarship.

Locally, Pennsylvania American Water awarded one of its scholarships to Sarah Andrieux of Exeter Township High School, who plans to attend Drexel University to study mechanical engineering.

A panel of judges selected the winners from more than 100 scholarship applicants, evaluating them on criteria including academic achievement, letters of recommendation, community service and future careers plans in the water and wastewater industry.

“We are proud to award a Stream of Learning Scholarship to Sarah, an extraordinary student who not only achieved the highest academic standards, but also shares our commitment to environment stewardship and community service,” said Pennsylvania American Water Senior Manager of Operations Charlie Piekanski.
