The Woman’s Club of Exeter Township has recently donated $6,000 to the Exeter Community Library. These funds were raised during the club’s sold-out Spring Fashion Show on Saturday, April 2, at the Reading Country Club.

Lois Ensslen, president of the Woman’s Club, says this is the biggest donation the club has made.

“The club members were instrumental in getting the library started,” said Ensslen. “Even in the years without a fashion show, we still donate to the library.”

Mallory Hoffman, Executive Director of the Exeter Community Library, says at least $5,000 of the total donation will go towards the purchase of books – half juvenile and half adult. There’s also a shelving unit needed as the library does some reorganizing. She said the donation is a blessing.

All of the proceeds from the Fashion Show, held every other year, have been donated to the library for the past 15 years.

The library is located at 4565 Prestwick Drive, Reading.
