LOWER POTTSGROVE >> Lower Pottsgrove Police were recently shown just how much they’re appreciated by the financial services industry.
On June 15, Lower Pottsgrove Police were awarded a certificate of appreciation from the Financial Security Officers of Eastern Pennsylvania “in recognition of outstanding service to the financial services industry.”
Lower Pottsgrove Police Chief Michael Foltz accepted the award on the department’s behalf. The nomination came from retired Lower Pottsgrove Police Sergeant Gregory Maskrey, who is now a collection officer and fraud investigator for Diamond Credit Union. They were nominated for their ongoing cooperation with local financial institutions including Diamond Credit Union in resolving fraud cases. Maskrey described the organization as, “dedicated to promote a good working relationship between the financial institutions in the organization with an exchange of ideas, knowledge and educational information to better educate our members on issues pertaining to security.”
“We are honored to receive this award,” said Foltz. “Our department supports our local business community and this award reflects our commitment to assisting them, especially our local financial institutions, with preventing, identifying and prosecuting criminal activity that affects their stability.”
The conference where Foltz accepted the award was held in Fogelsville and was attended by several law enforcement agencies and fraud investigators from numerous banking institutions from around the region.
“This award is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of those who work these cases daily, the officers and detectives of the department,” said Foltz.
