The Reading Public Library is holding its second annual Comic Con event on Saturday, July 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main library, 100 S. Fifth Street. Admission is free, as are a variety of workshops and activities.
Building on last year’s huge success, professional workshops will include return engagements by freelance digital artist and painter Jean Esther and Napkin Artist, Jimmy Ettele. Appearing for the first time will be artist Craig Schaffer and Dr. Weevil, “The Bug Guy.”
The Children’s Library will host super stations including caricatures, face painting, balloon artistry and mask-making. A Cosplayer Photo booth will be featured in the Teen Loft.
Vendors include The Hungarian Wand Shop, The Fairy Garbmother and the Reading Roller Derby Girls. New this year will be food trucks located in the library parking lot.
