St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Glenmoore has a new Rector. The Vestry and the Search Committee are happy to announce, after a 15 month long process, that the search for the next Rector of St. Andrew’s has concluded with the call of the Father Tommy Thompson. With enthusiasm, Tommy Thompson’s first service at St. Andrew’s will be Sunday, Aug. 28.

Father Tommy comes to St. Andrew’s from St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Whitemarsh, where he served as the Minister for Christian Formation since October 2012. Prior to his time at St. Thomas, Tommy served as an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. During his 15 years in ministry, he has served in various parishes as children’s pastor, youth pastor and senior pastor. He earned his B.A. in Religion & Pastoral Ministries at Trevecca University, his M.Div from Asbury Theological Seminary and his Post Graduate Diploma in Anglican Studies at Virginia Theological Seminary.

Tommy is married to his bride of 16 years, Leslie, and they have two children, Daniel (15) and Hannah (11). The Thompsons have a shih-tzu named Kipper.

St. Andrew’s, a church of approximately 150 families, is delighted to have Tommy Thompson lead their spiritual home and to serve Christ by helping one another and the community for the years to come.
