Bridge of Hope Berks County is serving a homeless single mother and her children in their Full Service Program. But, this service would not be possible without the collaboration with West Lawn United Methodist Church, Mary’s Shelter and QuadW Missional Internship Program. West Lawn UMC is renting an apartment in one of their buildings to this single mother at a reasonable cost. By doing so, the mother and her children will be safe and secure while Bridge of Hope Berks County works to stabilize her in every other area of her life.

Through the service, guidance and advocacy of Mary’s Shelter, this woman had a safe place to live while she awaited the birth of her child. With the training and accountability provided by the Bridge of Hope staff, along with the nurturing friendships provided by her mentors, this woman will be able to make the changes in her life that will be long lasting. This mother truly has a chance to become a healthy and productive member of the Berks County community.

Recently, West Lawn UMC provided housing for another mother and her children in the same apartment building. The mother’s mentors were members of West Lawn UMC.

QuadW missional interns are also supporting this family through projects and support services for the children. For more information about QuadW, visit http://quadwmi.org/.
