An original dance production, “Odyssey: Storytelling through Dance,” will be held on The Steps at Reading’s Main Library on Saturday, July 30 at 1 p.m. More than 50 presenters, including dancers, spoken artists and martial artists will tell the story of a man who travels through different worlds in search of his dream, a woman he once saw while walking through our city. Featured will be interpretive dance numbers in styles ranging from ballet and swing to hip hop and Reggae. Special dances will be performed by students from Abilities in Motion and RIZE Hip Hop Dance Lab.

A live flute performance will describe some passages in the “Odyssey” story and accompanying music will range from “Blackbird” by the Beatles to “Lose Yourself” by Eminem. Several featured songs will be from Cirque Du Soleil.

Reciting some of his work on the theme of Latin identity will be poet and declamatory, Luis Morales Guzman.

There is no charge for admission and seating is general admission on The Steps at Main.
