Twin Valleys Garden Club recently served as judges for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) Gardening and Greening Contest, in which backyard and community gardeners in Philadelphia and surrounding counties competed for coveted blue ribbons. Carol Heilner noted that this contest encourages a commitment to green spaces. “As judges we were excited to see gardeners creatively using available space from large plots to a strip of land along a driveway,” she said. Judging in local gardening contests is one of the many outreach projects of TVGC.
