Jesse Rothacker presented Animal Olympics Family Reptile Show at the UCC Church on 3rd and Pine streets in Hamburg on July 29.

Sponsored by the Hamburg Public Library, the show was part of the Summer Reading Program, which features the theme “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!”

Rothacker, and helper Jesse Geissinger, 13, Reinholds, brought various snakes, including a Bernese Python and a Ball Python; an African tortoise, George the box turtle, a bearded dragon and other reptiles.

He asked young volunteers to help with the show, even putting three snakes on one boy. After the show he offered each child the chance to pet a ball python.

Rothacker concluded his show encouraging the audience to venture two blocks down the street to Hamburg Public Library to find books about reptiles.
