The Northeast Branch of the Reading Public Library will be closed until cooler weather returns in September. Despite a valiant effort by the City’s Public Works Department to address the lack of air conditioning, the library cannot be kept open due to excessive heat.

To offset the lost hours, our Southeast Branch at 1426 Perkiomen Avenue will be open two additional days from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, the Southeast Branch will be open: Mondays, 12-7:30 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Library customers may borrow items, place holds, pick up items and attend classes and programs at the Main Library, the Northwest Branch Library and the Southeast Branch Library.
