What exactly is the Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County and why is preservation so important? Come on out to Morlatton Village on Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. to find out.

Longtime board member and former president Matt Barnhart will offer a brief overview of the Trust and its history before discussing the benefits of restoring and reusing historic structures. A brief tour of some of the buildings at Morlatton Village will also be included.

Matt Barnhart is the former president of the Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County. He is a Historic Properties Specialist at Keller Williams Realty Elite and the owner of Historic Proportions, LLC. Mr. Barnhart is a great advocate for adaptive reuse of historic structures and has been instrumental in the Trust’s outreach and advocacy.

The Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County (HPTBC) has announced a series of programs that will be offered through October at Morlatton Village in Douglassville. These site-wide programs will include various formats and topics including exhibits, demonstrations, interactive sessions, and oral and graphic presentations. Light refreshments will be provided and tours of Morlatton Village will be offered. Program will begin in the White Horse Inn. Suggested donation $2/person. All proceeds benefit the Trust.
