POTTSTOWN >> The Pottstown Police Department announced Tuesday that South Roland Street has become a one-way road.
According to police, South Roland Street from High Street to Center Avenue is now a one-way south street. Warnings for violations will be given until after the Labor Day holiday, then citations will be issued.
This change was brought about as part of the Bike-Walk Pottstown Project. A bicycle track and Share the Road will be added to a portion of South Roland Street in the near future.
The changes are part of the first of three phases to improve walking and biking opportunities in the borough. The second phase of the project will involve improvements along the entire length of Franklin and Evans streets, near Franklin Elementary School, as well as York and Johnson streets and the area around Lincoln Elementary School.
