POTTSTOWN >> Police arrested a Pottstown man after they allegedly found him in possession of heroin.

Police arrested Samir Daymar Gould-Roberts, 20, of the 200 block of Chestnut Street on Aug. 22 after conducting a drug investigation that led to the discovery of several bags of heroin, court papers said.

According to police, officers made contact with Gould-Roberts at around 12:40 p.m. after locating a silver Jeep Cherokee on the north side of Chestnut Street, east of Hanover Street. Gould-Roberts stated that the Jeep belonged to him and gave consent to search the vehicle. Officers located a knotted sandwich bag under the driver’s seat that was visible from the left rear window. The bag contained 12 white boxes of suspected heroin, each with “Call of Duty” stamped on them, police said.

Gould-Roberts gave police his address but did not give police permission to search his apartment. He was then taken into custody.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, police served the warrant on the same day. Officers located six bundles of suspected heroin in a closet containing the heating and air conditioning systems. The bundles contained white wax bags inside a plastic bag. Police located a total of 57 bags of suspected heroin. The bags were then tagged and sent for testing, according to court documents.

Gould-Roberts is being charged with intent to possess a controlled substance, manufacture, delivery or possession with intent and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned on Aug. 23 before District Judge Scott T. Palladino and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 12 again before Palladino. He was unable to post the set $50,000 bail and is being held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
